I am a professor at the University of Saint-Etienne and researcher at the Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology applied to aromatic and medicinal plants (LBVpam). I study the production of scent compounds in plants, in particular the biosynthesis pathways of terpenes. I want to know why some plants are heavily fragrant while others are not. My favorite plant model is the rose. I discovered a new pathway for terpene biosynthesis in this plant.
