I am a professor at the Department of Biology of the University of Évora, teaching Animal Physiology and Animal Behaviour. I have been wanting to know what, how and why animals smell what they do. My favorite animal model is the Mozambique tilapia, a freshwater fish with an interesting social behaviour found to be mediated by pheromones.
