I am a Research Director at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), directing the Insect Biology Research Institute (IRBI) in Tours, France, since 2015.
My integrative approach lies at the interface between functional ecology and evolutionary ecology. I seek to understand the adaptive mechanisms involved in sustainable interactions between insects and their biotic environment, whether in host-parasitoid or plant-insect-microorganism relationships. I also aim to assess the physiological and behavioral consequences of these proximal mechanisms on insects, and their impact on life-history traits and the evolution of feeding strategies. In this context of nutritional ecology, I am particularly interested in the evolution and adaptive significance of the endophytic lifestyle in insects, using an evolutionary ecophysiology and chemical ecology approach.
