WG2 Workshop, Barcelona 2026
Artboard 1 (2) (1)

On 17 and 18 March 2026, a face-to-face workshop was held in Barcelona as part of the WG2 with the aim of collaboratively developing a scientific position paper.

The workshop focused on the preparation of a manuscript entitled “Chemical communication and ecosystem functioning in a changing world.” Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on key concepts, identified critical research gaps and defined the overall structure of the paper. Special emphasis was placed on integrating current knowledge on how major global change drivers, such as climate change, environmental pollution, and invasive species, affect chemical communication processes across organisms and ecosystems.

The main outcome of the workshop was the agreement on a detailed manuscript outline and the development of initial draft sections, along with a clear allocation of responsibilities among participants.
